To stop the spread of flu, make sure to also:

     1. Wash your hands often

     2. Use a tissue or your sleeve when you cough or sneeze

     3. Stay home if you’re sick.

The flu season runs through May, so it’s not too late to get your flu vaccine.

To help you relax during shots:

• Have a parent keep you company
• Take slow, deep breaths
• Focus on something in the room, like a poster
• Bring along your favorite music
• Close your eyes and think of your favorite place or activity

Before you know it, your shots will be over with and you’ll be protected! It’s worth it!

If you’re getting a flu vaccine, you can also ask your doctor or nurse about the nasal spray flu vaccine. It’s a mist that goes inside your nostrils and protects you against the flu, just like the flu shot.
