How can getting your flu shot help protect a little baby who isn’t old enough yet or an older lady who is too weak to get the vaccination?

Remember, everyone 6 months of age and older should get a flu vaccine every year. Vaccination against flu is VERY important for older adults!

By getting your flu vaccine, you make it less likely that you will get sick with flu. If you don’t get sick with flu, you can’t pass it to a little baby, an older lady, or anyone else you come into contact with.

When most people are vaccinated against flu, there are fewer people sick with flu in the population. This protects those such as babies too young to get flu shots by lowering the chances they’ll come into contact with someone who is sick with flu.
